TO DO
- Shinsaibashi - a 600m strip of shopping and restaurants. from here, you’ll intersect with the famous Dotonbori billboard.
- Amerika-mura - for vintage clothes and homewares shopping.
- Universal Studios - a train ride away for a day out, full of rides, average food and wishing you had the stomach to go on roller coasters backwards.
- Shinsekai - a quick trip from Shinsaibashi to see the retro district.
- Osaka Castle - a popular tourist attraction for a fix of culture.
- Katsuoji Temple - venture out for a half day to the temple home to the daruma dolls.
- Kuromon Ichiba Market - food market full of street food and fresh seafood.
TO EAT
- Wagyu Idaten - this was highly recommended and definitely lived up to the hype. cooked and raw wagyu that literally melts in your mouth.
- Kobe Beef Wanomiya Dotonbori - I had to sell everything I own to pay for it, but worth it for the teppanyaki experience and top tier wagyu.
- Daiki Susan Sushi Train Station Dotonbori - sushi trains are harder to come by, and this was that delicious we visited a few times.
- Not a place in particular, but try local street food such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki and yakitori. When in Rome (Japan)!
